8 Ways You Can Celebrate New Year’s Eve At Home

8 Ways You Can Celebrate New Year’s Eve At Home

This year’s New Year’s Eve is going to look a little different. With social distancing and partial lockdowns, there really isn’t much that we can do outdoors. So, what’s the next best thing? Celebrating indoors like we’ve been doing all year! I know, it’s sad. I love going out and having fun with my friends on New Year’s Eve but, we have to make sacrifices if we want a better new year. If you haven’t figured out what to do yet, no worries, here are 8 ways you can celebrate New Year’s Eve at home!

  1. Watch Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve Show

Unless you live under a rock, you should know what the Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rocking Eve is! I watch it (almost) every year, from the comfort of my own home so this doesn’t bother me. I mean, why stand in the cold for 6 hours, amongst thousands of people when I can watch it from my couch?

The show starts at about 6pm EST and it consists of performances from multiple artists, interviews, and fun audience interactions all night! Then, once the clock strikes midnight, we all countdown and watch the ball drop and enjoy stepping into the New Year! It’s a fun show that’s great for the entire family.

  1. Dress Up & Have An At Home New Year’s Eve Party

I am the Queen of dressing up, dancing and having fun in my house. I love getting up and moving around so this is something I’d definitely do without hesitation. Party for one? Yes! If you have a cute New Year’s Eve outfit, throw it on, do your makeup all glittery and shiny and have a party with your family. Dance, sing, and go all out.

  1. Have A Movie Night

If you’re more of a calm and relaxed person, then a movie night of fun holiday movies will be great. And when I say movie night, I mean, go all out! Make it fun for the whole family by printing out ticket stubs, getting popcorn buckets, making a fort, and turning on all the Christmas lights— this will put you in the perfect mood.

  1. Have A Self Care Night

End the year with self care! This year was stressful and you deserve to lay back and kick your feet up. Take the night to do everything you’ve been wanting to and relax. Get masks for your face, hair, hands, and feet! Get a lip scrub, cucumbers for your eyes, a glass of wine and pamper the heck out of yourself and wake up refreshed for 2021.

  1. Make Fun Drinks & Snacks

One of my favorite parts of New Years parties are all of the props, drinks and snacks. I love the fruity cocktails with edible confetti and sprinkles around the rim and cute cookies. Gather your family, make your own and have fun! I love it, get wild and countdown to midnight.

  1. Have A Virtual Party

FaceTime is the thing of 2020 so why not utilize it to end the year? Call your family and friends or throw a virtual party; where you all get dressed up and enjoy the night together. You may not physically be together but you will be together (virtually) and in spirit.

  1. Reflect

This year was a lot and maybe you just want to relax and think. You could use this time to journal your feelings and remember everything (good or bad) that this year has given you. Reflections are always great and remind you to be humble and appreciative of everything.

  1. Take A Ton Of Pictures & Document The Night

Lastly, whatever you do, remember to document the night! This year will definitely be in the future history books and having photos to look back at will be amazing! Also, it’ll remind you that you made it through the horrid 2020! I love having memories to look back on so make this night memorable.

Thats all for this post, I hope you enjoy your New Year’s Eve and have a great night! Be safe!
