Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021

Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021

Happy New Year, you beautiful people! We have finally entered 2021 and left 2020 behind. Goodbye 2020 and hello 2021! I’m so excited to start this year and see where it takes me. I have been thinking about my New Year goals and what I want to accomplish this year and I honestly don’t really know. 2020 was such a whirlwind of a year that brought on so many feelings, thoughts, and ideas that making a list of things to accomplish feels weird.

However, I still kind of want to make a small list and write down the things that I want to focus on and improve because that feels normal. If I can grasp a little bit of normality, I want to. I know you don’t need a New Year to invite change into your life but, it’s the thing we do in society. But, before, getting into my goals, I did want to thank 2020 for some of the things that it brought to me.

2020 was an odd year for us all and it definitely wasn’t anything we were expecting. But, for me, I did get some good moments out of it such as getting engaged, spending time at home, learning to love being alone, and overall health. In the beginning of the year, I was still living in Spain, traveling, and preparing to have more fun while exploring the city. That sadly ended in March.

When March hit, we were all confused and thrown into a global pandemic, that we all thought would be gone in a couple of weeks (now, we are in January and cases are spiking again.) Although it wasn’t the best circumstances, I got to be home and resting for the first time in what felt like forever. During college, I had so many panic attacks and felt like I had no break. I worked in Reslife, I worked at CVS, I was a peer health educator (which was both a job and a student leadership role,) I traveled for conferences, I had 4 classes each semester, and I had 1 internship per year (4 all throughout my college career.) Staying home and working on my own time— it felt amazing!

I could breathe, I could sleep, I could binge all the Netflix that I wanted— I loved it! So I am thankful for working from home and while at home, I focused on my health. I am a very sickly person and the thought of getting Corona freaked me out! I did not want to catch it so I started eating healthier, exercising whenever I woke up, and established somewhat of a good routine. So, I will say thank you 2020 for that.

Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021

Now, moving onto 2021, I still want to work on these areas. I want to be able to work fully from home; as a blogger and content creator as well as work on being my healthiest and best self. So, I guess those are my goals for the year. I want to be happy, achieve my career goals, and just be healthy. These are the most important things to me right now but mostly happoness.

With the pandemic, it is a little hard some days so putting my mental health first is the main thing that I want to focus on. I want all happiness, joy, and calmness this year. Life is short and the biggest lesson that I’ve learned from 2020 is to live it to the fullest.

So, with saying that, I am adding some new topics to my blog! And coming up with more content ideas. In terms of new content ideas, when I created my blog, I wanted it to be fully lifestyle. I love to talk about a ton of different things that interest me while giving advice. One of the biggest topics that I’ve always wanted to do is motherhood but that won’t be happening for a few more years so, instead, I’ll touch on health. I want to incorporate all health topics, body positivity, self love and just talking about being your happiest self!

Also, I love music, film, and pop culture so maybe a few reviews? I’m not sure yet, I’m going to play around with it because another thing that I’ve learned is to just do it! Do what you want (if it’s legal) when you want. So, the schedule will hopefully be Monday through Friday. And lastly, over on my Instagram, I want to post videos with social media tips because I love giving advice and helping others out. I’m thinking of creating videos on my Instagram before migrating to YouTube.

So, those are my thoughts at the moment for what I want to start the year off with. I have other goals and things that I want to create and make but those will come with growth. I don’t want to pack too much on my plate like I did in college so, stay tuned! Subscribe to get my emails.
