The Honey Pot Review

The Honey Pot Review

This Christmas, Christian got me a few products from The Honey Pot and I was so excited! I had been wanting to try out this brand for so long and was so happy that he actually listened and bought them for me. The Honey Pot is a black-owned, feminine, and period brand; that makes pads, tampons, washes, panty sprays and so much more! The purpose of these products is to help and regulate your PH balance. If that sounds like something you’ll be interested in, keeping reading this The Honey Pot review!

I got both the herbal infused day and night pads, as well as the organic tampons, lavender panty spray, and PH balanced wash. I will give my likes and dislikes on each product!

The Herbal Infused Pads

The Honey Pot Review

My period ended up coming a couple of days after Christmas and that was the first time that I was excited about it. I had been itching to try these pads and let me tell you— I was in for a shock! I had forgotten that the pads were infused with herbs and thought my vagina was on fire!

I put the pad on and about 5 minutes later, I felt a burning, cooling sensation and thought that I was having an allergic reaction. As many of us millennials do today, I went straight to YouTube and started watching other reviews and realized that it was normal. The pads are infused with lavender and mint and that is what causes the cooling sensation.

Anywho, once I got used to the sensations, it started to feel really good! The herbs are meant to help your cramps and cool down any pains you may be feeling. It’s kind of like when women make cooling pads with witch hazel and essential oils after giving birth. Oh, before I continue, the herbs are not going inside of your vagina, they’re just infused into the pad and it’s all-natural.

I genuinely like the pad, it’s not too big nor small and feels very comfortable. I have the regular size so it’s perfect for my flow! The only con that I would have is I think they should have a section (sort of like a warning) that reminds and lets you know that you are going to feel an intense cooling sensation so other gals don’t have the same reaction that I did. I know that it says ‘herbal infused’ on the packaging but I think a little blurb would be great.

The Herbal Infused Overnight Pads

The Honey Pot Review

The overnight pads have the same herbs which cause the same sensations as the regular day pads however, I’m not too crazy about them. They’re very large and have two sets of wings for no reason (IMO.)

I like using pads at night so I wanted to try these out but, after using them, they’re okay. The pad is very long and there are wings on both the top and bottom and the bottom wings don’t even reach under my underwear, thus causing the pad to shift as if I were wearing a wingless ‘liner.’. I do not like that at all because it causes leaks and leaves stains.

Other than that, the pad is fine and as I said, once you get used to the herbal sensations, it feels good.

The Organic Duo Pack Tampons

The Honey Pot Review

The next product that I got is the organic duo tampons! This box comes with both regular and super tampons; that work for any flow! For some women like myself, my flow will start out heavy then slow down during the rest of my period and these are great for that.

Both tampon applicators are very soft and not uncomfortable when inserting! Also, there aren’t any herbs on the tampon so no need to worry about that. All in all, the tampons are comfortable and unnoticeable when wearing them.

PH Balance Wash

The Honey Pot Review

Usually, I’m not a ‘vagina wash’ gal because growing up, I heard so many different opinions on brands like Summer’s Eve and Vagisil so I never wanted to use them. However, when I saw this product, and the rave about it, I thought that it wouldn’t hurt to try. Unlike the other products, at least this one is natural and organic. Plus, it says that it was created to keep (or regulate) your ph balance so, why not?

I’ve been using it now since Christmas and everything seems to be fine down there. I’m not having any irritations, any internal problems (remember– never put any soap inside of your girlfriend), or issues. I would use my body wash (Dove) and just wash clean around but I honestly feel better using a specific wash and feel even better that it’s working on me. I recommend it!

Lavender Panty Spray

The Honey Pot Review

Normally, I think panty sprays are weird but, I’m a sucker for lavender! I love lavender and love organic and vegan even more! This spray isn’t harsh nor does it have a strong perfume smell, it just smells natural. What I’ve been doing is holding my panty out (arm’s length) and I’ll spray it once. I’ll also spray my armpits and feet because it says to do so and why not? It doesn’t irritate my skin whatsoever and during my period, it made everything smell fresher. I definitely will keep using this product– especially because there’s no harsh or strong fragrance.

In conclusion, I do recommend all products if you’re into natural and organic items! None of these items caused a reaction or irritation and I typically have sensitive skin. However, if there is a smaller overnight pad package, let ya girl know! I say test these out if you’re looking to make a switch!
