The holiday season is full of fun activities and exciting Christmas outings. However, a lot of us are still on lockdown, personally quarantining, or are simply homebodies and prefer to do things at home. Plus, not too many events are happening this year. So, I’ve decided to come up with a list of 10 Christmas activities to do at home with your family, so you don’t feel any FOMO.
- Do A Gingerbread House
Making gingerbread houses is probably my favorite Christmas activity because It is so much fun, tasty, and adds a little bit of Christmas competition. It also takes you back to when you were a child and would create little homes for your dolls and decorate it! And lastly, you get to eat it after you’re done!
I love cookies, they’re so yummy and baking them with your loved ones is such a great activity. You get to bond, have fun, be silly, and just be in a great mood and spirit.
- Watch A Christmas Movie
I love Christmas movies and specials! They’re touching, sweet, funny, and just amazing. I wrote a post on my favorite Christmas films so, check it out, find a movie, make some cocoa and a snack and then have a good evening.
- Build A Christmas Fort
Back in Spain, Christian and I built a fort in our living room and it was the best thing ever! We put blankets, pillows, and anything we could find to make our little nook. After we had it structured, we put the tv in, some lights, our mattress and it was the perfect thing ever. Imagine making this but a Christmas version? Lights, decor, hot chocolate, and a movie.
- Build Snowmen In The Yard
If you live in a cold area where it snows, doing activities in the yard is tons of fun. If your yard is big enough, you can do so many activities such as building a snowman, tubing, having a snowball fight and much more!
- Do A Secret Santa Or Yankee Swap
Secret Santa is my favorite Christmas activity because you get to be cute, leave little hints for your person, give them little gifts and make them smile, then buy them the most perfect gift! It’s so cute and I love it. It also shows who knows who best.
- Take Christmas Photos In Matching PJs
I love matching pjs and I think it’s very cute when families can dress up together, get into the spirit and take some cute and creative photos. Its also a bonding experience!
Advent calendars are tons of fun and there are so many different types. Ones with candy, chocolates, beauty and skincare products and so much more. You can make it a thing every night with you family, where a different person opens one each night.
- Make Christmas Cards
Everyone loves a sweet, touching card and kids especially love to create things. I think it will be a great activity if you have children.
- Sing A Carol Or Dance
We live in the world of Tik Tok and there are so many Christmas songs, dances and carols out there. I think it would be a cute family activity to learn a tik tok dance or sing a carol together. Whatever you choose, share it with your loved ones and have fun!
