Its beginning to look alot like Christmas! I love the holiday season, it is so much fun and there are so many things to do! However, this year may be different. This year has been a tough one for all of us and some may not feel all holly and jolly. I mean,I guess that’s bound to happen when you stay in quarantine for months during a pandemic. Although this year wasn’t what we expected (and it’s flown by,) we should still end it with some good measure and that’s why I’m sharing 10 ways to get into the Christmas spirit with you all. I’m hoping that after you read this, you’ll feel like putting up that tree and drinking some eggnog!
- Play Christmas Music
I love Christmas music! From Mariah Carey, to Justin Bieber, and Tyler The Creator’s Grinch soundtrack– Christmas music just hits differently. It makes you feel positive and excited. Especially when that popular Christmas song plays and makes you feel all jittery or when you’re in public and everyone’s singing along to jingle bells as they shop. It’s a feel good moment.
What also goes great with Christmas sounds are Christmas scents! Waking up your senses always is perfect for getting you in the right mood.
- Watch Christmas Movies
25 Days of Christmas, Hallmark, Netflix, and Disney has some of the best Christmas movies out there! There is nothing better than getting the whole family together and watching The Santa Clause Trilogy or a 90s DCOM. Being around family in a good mood can always brighten things up.
- Make Christmas Cards
I love Christmas Cards and how creative some people get. You can create a ton of cards in any style you want. You can make photo ones and mail them out to loved ones, you can make DIY cards with kids, or purchase some at the store. People love to receive cards, it makes them feel good inside and shows that you thought of them.
- Make Your Christmas Wishlist
Christmas isn’t all about gifts but receiving gifts is always great, especially if its what you wanted. Make your list and give it to whomever is buying you gifts and have fun with it. Don’t feel bad for adding something you’ve wanted all year long also.
- Make Christmas Shopping Lists
Once you’re done making your own wishlist, make shopping lists for others in your life. Ask them what they want or take a guess! This will make you feel happy and like a good person.
- Decorate
Put your Christmas tree up, hang up your lights, and everything else you want to showcase. This is a fun activity to do with the whole family. It’ll put everyone in a good mood and you can play music, drink eggnog and then it’ll feel like Christmas.
- Eat Christmas Foods
Bake some cookies, cakes, drink eggnog, hot chocolate
- Do Christmas Activities
There are so many activities you can find online to do. Games, crafts, print out coloring pages or gingerbread house making. You’ll have so much fun doing these activities with your loved ones.
- Go To Christmas Events
I don’t know if we’ll get any Christmas events this year like the Christmas tree lighting ceremony or ice skating but if there are any, definitely go! We’ve been away from human contact for so long so being around others (socially distanced) will be great.
- Dress Yourself Up
I love cute Christmas
