Apple Picking At Honey Pot Hill Orchards

Apple Picking At Honey Pot Hill Orchards

Going apple picking is one of my favorite fall activities! I love picking them from the branches, I love the apple cider, the donuts, and just the fun feeling you get being outdoors and seeing the new season in full swing. I’ve been apple picking at honey pot hill orchards for years now and they definitely get better each year.

This orchard is located in Stowe, MA and I believe you can only get there by driving. I would suggest getting there early in the day because this place is very popular and can get full really quickly. It is also very family-friendly, with a ton of different activities to do so, you’d want to make sure you have enough time to spend.

What You Can Do

  1. Apple Picking

They have so many different sections of deliciously, big, and shiny red apples. Since I don’t know the names of all the apples, I simply love walking aimlessly around and picking from any tree that has appealing looking apples.

When you pay to get in, they give you bag size based on how many guests are with you. You could go for a single bag or a group bag and fill it up with as many apples as you’d like. But, make sure you disperse enough or you’ll fill your bag with the same apples.

  1. Pumpkin Patch

They also have a pumpkin patch here, where they allow you to pick any pumpkins– big or small! I love using pumpkins for decoration, more than I enjoy eating it. I also love taking photos in the patch.

  1. Animal Petting Zoo

If you have children, this is perfect for them. They have all types of farm animals that you can pet, feed, and take pictures with.

  1. Food

I love food and I love when places have their own signature meals, Some of their signature meals are their cider donuts, apple cider, pies, chili (which is amazing) and their milkshakes! They also have other options like pizza, burgers, coffee and because they have the option to host birthday parties, there’s also a ton of deserts! You can spend your entire day here and end it with a family dinner.

  1. Go to The Market

They have a cute little farmers market where you can buy already packaged apples, pears, pies, honey, jam, and all sorts of snacks. I love little markets like these because they’re made by the community for the community. Plus special, homemade items just hits different,

  1. Hay Rides

I call it a hay ride “bus” because it carries you from different point stops. You wait at a certain spot (like a bus stop) and they’re scheduled to pick you up and carry you to your next destination in the orchards. It definitely beats walking– especially on a hot, sunny, fall day.

  1. Mazes

Lastly, they have two mazes that are crazy fun. Sadly, because of corona, they are limited and closed. The big maze is a huge forest that takes up to 2 hours to complete and the second one is a tunnel maze that you have to crawl through!

Hopefully next year restrictions will either be lifted or not as strict. What’s your favorite fall activity?
