My 2021 Workout Routine

My 2021 Workout Routine

When I created my New Years goals this year, it wasn’t really anything spectacular. My goals were simply to focus on family, friends, myself, and most importantly, my mental and physical health. I am someone who likes to be healthy in all areas of life for both health and personal reasons but during quarantine, I felt like I wasn’t being healthy at all! Plus, after coming back to the slates, my body and “insides” just felt so gross! Constant bloating and uncomfortableness as my body got used to American food again. So, I wanted to create a workout routine to combat all of that and stay active and fit! If that’s something you’re also trying to do, continue reading to hear my 2021 workout routine.

When quarantine first happened, I was still in Spain. I was still somewhat healthy (I’m not going to lie, I was drinking  milkshakes like everyday) but my meals were still healthy and I was trying to stay active by dancing for my followers on Instagram. Seriously, I have a highlight dedicated to that. However, I was so used to going on walks every single day (which is why I love living in the city) and moving my body but being home for months, I was only walking from the couch to the bathroom.

After coming home and eating so much food during the holidays, I just felt bloated and bleh. I wasn’t working out as much nor was I walking daily like I used to. So my food would just sit in my stomach and hurt it. After the holidays, I told myself “you need to get up and be active girl!” So I did.

Routine

Before I start, let me just say– you should workout because you want to not because you feel pressured to. I can’t believe that we’re in 2021 and people are still being rude and commenting on other people’s bodies. Every body is beautiful. As long as you’re healthy and your doctor lets you know what’s up, you’re all good!

I personally workout to stay active, healthy, and maintain my weight. Also, your girl wants to be toned because I just love it haha. Anyways, during quarantine, I gained weight (like a normal person) and was happy that I did. I finally gained weight and was getting my “adult woman body” so I want to maintain that.

Now onto the routine.

My routine consists of walking, running, and watching youtube videos from the comfort of my own home. Gyms are limited and to be honest, I rather workout at home and be safe. I try to workout (or be active) Monday through Friday. I don’t want to burn my body out so I try to switch things up each day.

Monday

  • Walk Around The Block
  • 30 min Full Body Workout
  • Stretch Yoga

Tuesday

  • Toned Abs
  • Pilates

Wednesday

  • Walk Around The Block
  • Toned Arms

Thursday

  • Toned Thighs
  • Toned Abs

Friday

  • Walk Around The Block
  • 30 min Yoga

This is essentially what I do every week. I don’t necessarily stick to a strict schedule, instead, I wake up and choose to focus on a specific area that I think needs to be worked on. Or, if one part of my body is too sore, I’ll work on another body part.

When doing these workouts, I like to watch Youtube videos. I personally like Youtube videos because it’s like having my own personal trainer plus it motivates me even more. I love that they’re doing the workout alongside us and pushing us to continue. I used to find Pinterest workout templates but not so much anymore but, I’ll still add a few that I used to do.

Okay, so this is my 2021 workout routine! I know working out can be hard and tiring but it’s so worth it! It makes you feel good, strong, and powerful. I love the burning sensation (afterwards) and I love feeling the results.

Remember, working out is all about feeling good, being active, and finding what you like! You can dance, do yoga, ride bikes, swim– whatever you love!
