Winter Skin And Body Care Tips To Maintain Healthy Skin

Winter Skin And Body Care Tips To Maintain Healthy Skin

If you live in a cold climate, you know that winter isn’t just freezing, it is also very drying! I swear my lips get chapped in two minutes of me walking outside. Not only my lips but my hands crack, get ashy, and my skin peels! Yes, it’s very bad, So, over the years, I have perfected my own routine and things to do to assure that I’m not struggling and looking like a mess out here. Here are my winter skin and body care tips to maintain healthy skin.

Skincare

  1. Create A Great Routine

Yes, you need to have a good routine to make sure that your skin is healthy, glowing, and soft! I love it when I wash my face and can feel how smooth and soft it is. When I say a routine, I mean a good cleanser, serum, oil, moisturizer, and whatever else you may need. I know that people think it is too much but, you can actually see a difference.

  1. Have A Lip Scrub & Chapstick

As I said earlier, my lips chap and get ashy quickly in the winter so I carry around my Blistex lip balm everywhere I go. I do not leave the house without it because my lips will become irritated if I don’t reapply every few hours. Doing a lip scrub at least once a week or every other week is good as well. It will strip away all the cracked and dry skin.

  1. Exfoliate Twice A Week

Normally, I exfoliate once a week but during the winter, I find myself doing it twice a week. I’d do it at the beginning of the week and at the end. Once again, exfoliating strips away dead skin and dryness.

  1. Do A Hydrating Face Mask Once A Week

I have a ton of different types of face masks but I think hydrating masks are the best for colder climates. Hydrating masks bring the moisture back into your skin and takes it from dull to bright and lively. It’s as if it’s pumping your skin with moisture.

  1. Drink Water

I always say this in a ton of my posts but it’s so true!! No lie, when i don’t drink enough water, my skin cries! My skin, my body, (TMI) my pee are not happy! You need to drink your water to keep your insides and body regulating.

Body

  1. Get A Nice, Thick Body Lotion

I am always surprised when people say that they don’t put lotion on after they shower! I could not! I literally have to lotion up my skin or it’ll feel dry and itchy after I shower. I like to use Vaseline, Eucerin, or Shea Butter. It keeps my body soft.

  1. Get Moisturizing Bath Soap

The Dove moisturizing soap is so good and I love the way it feels on my skin. I like a soap that is going to make my skin feel like it is getting massaged and smooth while I shower.

  1. Carry Hand Lotion

Man, I wash my hands so many times a day! Before covid, I washed my hands after everything I did and now? Girl, I wash and sanitize every second of the day. This means that my hands get really dry. When I walk to the train station during the winter, my hands are so dry that I have to lotion up as soon as I get into the station. Carry a good lotion in your bag that you can use every time you wash your hands.

  1. Take Shorter & Warmer Showers

Hot showers are very enjoyable, trust me I know. Sadly, they can be bad for your skin. The hot water can dry out your skin and during the winter, I know I personally love a nice hot shower or bath. The best thing to do is to keep the water warm and quickly get in and out. This will keep your skin from drying out.

  1. Exfoliate Your Skin

I usually exfoliate on my pamper days (which is about once a week) and I love the feeling of exfoliating. It makes me feel extra clean, soft, and smooth. I’m not going to lie, I shave my legs less frequently during the winter but when you exfoliate, it makes the hairs feel softer and easier to deal with. I hate leg hair because it hurts when it gets long but I’m too lazy to shae in the winter because I normally only wear pants.

Alright, beautiful people! I hope you enjoyed this post and took some tips! What’re your own winter tips? Leave me a comment.
