Hello beautiful people! I know it’s been a while but life has been hectic! If you’re a returning reader then you know but if you’re new here, hi, I’ve been planning my wedding for the last year! But unfortunately, this summer, my wedding wasn’t the only thing I had to plan for. My grandmother unexpectedly passed away which put a pause on everything as we now had a life to grieve and a funeral to plan.
In early June, my grandmother sadly and shockingly passed away and her death was very painful and heartbreaking. I had spent her final days with her, watching her favorite shows, eating popcorn, and just laughing and enjoying life together. We bonded and had a great time but God had other plans. She thankfully went peacefully so the most painful thing was just the timing of it all. I had always dreamt of my grandmother being at my wedding and being able to dance with her and I was so happy that I was getting married during a time when she was still alive. So, to have her suddenly pass away two months from that day destroyed me. Her death really put me into a weird place the last two months and I had no motivation to do anything. Which is why I took this impromptu break from blogging.

Fortunately, life seems to be getting back on the right track and I’m finally in the mood to blog and be creative again! This summer, I had so many plans and ideas– summer looks, trip ideas, wedding planning tips, but no worries, I still plan to do most of those posts so stick around! Fall (my favorite season) is approaching and I am ready for fall fashion,
Also, speaking of blogging, if you haven’t noticed, I changed my blog title and social media handles to “Simply SJ!” I decided to make this change because I want life to be simple and authentic and I want my blog to mirror that. When it comes to blogging, there are so many rules and steps to follow to achieve your goals but, I just want to blog because blogging is something I thoroughly enjoy. I love sharing my life and experiences with all those who care to read and engage.
Moving forward, I want my blog to be more about my everyday life and what I’m doing. My opinions and takes on things, my looks and ideas, my trips and tips— you get the point. So, welcome to a new chapter!
