What To Do
Since tourist and many Spaniards themselves love visiting, there are a ton of different things you can do.
- Guided Walking Tour: I did one of these tours and it was pretty helpful. The tour guide was very insightful and knew exactly what she was talking about and even a few cool facts. I recommend doing this and just allowing yourself to be informed.
- Alcázar de Segovia: This is the castle with the most gorgeous views! This castle is beautiful, not too big nor too long of a tour. It has amazing historical and art pieces and cool hidden places like the dungeon and hidden rooms to discover.
- Aqueduct of Segovia: The Aqueduct is one of the best-preserved elevated Roman aqueducts and a symbol of Segovia. It is right at the forefront of the Plaza del Azoguejo and is a great historical artifact.
- Catedral de Segovia: This Cathedral is a beautiful, Gothic-style build, located right in the main square and, you’re allowed to tour it! I highly recommend i
t .
- Plaza del Azoguejo: This plaza is at the front of the city, where the Aqueduct is located and there is a souvenir shop, a few other shops, some cafes and a wall you can walk up.
- Plaza Mayor: Plaza Mayor is the center of the city, with more shops,
resturants and events!
There are also a more shops, snack bars, book stores, and a tattoo shop along your walk.
Where To Eat
Read this and read it again. MAKE A RESERVATION! If you didn’t know, Segovia is known for “
I ended up eating at a cute little cafe, that was homestyle and comfortable. There are plenty of cafes, bars, and diverse foods such as Middle Eastern and Indian food. My advice is to decide what you want to eat and look up the restaurants and make a reservation immediately.
Tips
Segovia is more north of Madrid so, it is definitely colder!! So, properly prepare and dress warmly. I went in November and it was freezing. The picture below was on our way to the city. We passed by plenty of snow mountains.
Also, there are definitely some English speakers so if you can’t fully communicate, don’t hesitate to ask if they speak or know a little bit of English.
That’s it for this post! If you do make it to Segovia, leave a comment, a picture, or both!
PS, Tripadvisor can help you find specific places in cities so I suggest using it when traveling anywhere!
