Hola friends! Today’s blog post is going to be all about my goals and aspirations because I just recently got a fashion internship and I’m excited to start and figure out where I want life to take me.
I was laying down, finalizing everything and preparing for my last year of college, I just started thinking of everything I need to get done and what I want to do once I’m out of school. I am both excited and nervous to graduate and move on to bigger and better things and start my life! So, if you like reading blog posts like these or, if you’re about to graduate and need some inspiration, keep reading!
I graduate this May (whoo hoo!) as an undergrad with a BS in Journalism! These last four years have been amazingly eye-opening and have really made me grow and recognize my talents.
After graduation, I want to take a gap year (I need a break from school!!) and go overseas! Originally, I told my boyfriend that we should go backpacking through Europe but, now I’m thinking of spending an entire year overseas with him. I found a few options online that include teaching English and volunteering which is something I definitely won’t mind doing. Also, we’d be able to travel and experience the culture. Honestly, if I’m going to take an entire year off, I might as well make it fun and memorable. I can’t believe it’ll be the first time I don’t have to worry about school.
After spending a year abroad, I want to move to LA (bye bye cold Boston.) I’ve always wanted to move to the west coast because I love sun and warmth! California has been my dream living location for like ever. Once I get there, I’ll obviously continue blogging (I love it) start a youtube channel and go to grad school for documentary filmmaking! I’m going to be busy! Throughout grad school, I really want to keep focusing on my blogs and channel and, continue growing them and have fun while doing so.
Once I graduate from grad school, I want to jumpstart right into building my career. My dreams are big and I want to do everything! I originally started off wanting to work for E! or something similar but, college has taught me that I love filming, editing, fashion, and the idea of freelance. So, I obviously had to incorporate all of those into one.
During these last years, I have learned that I really enjoy gathering information and making videos so I figured, why not combine those two and just become a documentarian? I also figured out that I want to make documentaries on culture, life, and issues that plague our world. How fun is that? I would get to travel the world and bring awareness to different issues. Then, I want to continue my blog because I don’t want to give up fashion, (plus, I’ve always wanted my own fashion and lifestyle brand.) Lastly, I want to continue my boyfriend and I’s blog and youtube channel. We both wanted to do work in entertainment and sports and we both love the idea of freelance so, we came up with the idea to do our own thing and make our own fun “newscast.”
In a nutshell, my future career is being a documentarian, a blogger, and a brand owner!
After I’ve established myself and become successful, I want to settle down because I’ve always wanted to be a mom (I’m obsessed with cute little babies.) Ideally, I want to be married around 26 and start a family a few years after but, life has its own plans so you can’t really plan any of that but, if I could, that would be it! Another reason I love freelance and being your own boss is that I would be able to live my life, work, and be around my children all at once. That’s a perfect life.
